Our Specialization
 
BAC Aerospace can provide your in-house team with the engineering, design, analysis, testing, and certification expertise and services to supplement your existing capabilities in times of need. Our specialization and TCCA-delegated authority cover all the following fields related to the development and regulatory approval of aeronautical propulsion systems:
  • Propulsion system (powerplant) integration on fixed-wing aircraft, employing turbofan, turboprop, or piston engines
  • Propulsion system and drive system (including transmission) installation on rotorcraft
  • Auxiliary power unit (APU) integration on fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters
  • Engine type design and modification or repairs
  • Aircraft and rotorcraft environmental requirements, including noise/acoustics
We are also interested in working with OEMs intending to develop and certify new & novel propulsion systems, including electric propulsion, hybrid propulsion, eVTOL, and propulsion systems for supersonic flight.
Our Deliverables
At BAC Aerospace, we are flexible and can easily scale our involvement to suit your particular situation and needs. Some of the typical use cases of our services include, but are not limited to:
  • Planning of compliance demonstration strategy, including creating the certification plan, development and definition of the required means and methods of compliance, and any necessary negotiations with the regulatory authorities to ensure their acceptance of the certification plan.

  • Performing the necessary design reviews and engineering analysis to design, develop and certify the aircraft powerplant system installation. Read more about our design or analysis capabilities.

  • Airworthiness approval function, including making of findings of compliance to regulatory requirements, acting either as an outside DAR under our own Transport Canada delegated authority, or - if required - as external Authorized Person (i.e. DAD, CD, DAA, DE), under your company's approved organizational delegation. 

  • Solving any other problems related to the development and certification of aeronautical propulsion systems.
